HIERBA ROJA

HIERBA ROJA is a collective creation project founded in 2006 by Laida Azkona and Jean-Marc Serrano, situated in the framework of avant- garde contemporary dance.

Encuentros WUC is a hybrid show built around three thematic axes: love (falling in love-love, falling out of love), contemporaneity (close context) and mythology (universal nature). Encuentros WUC is a conceptual show, taking a gamble on the investigation of movement and body language and multimedia. A contemporary show that seeks to relate directly to the context and the audience.

Performers Laida Azkona and Jean-Marc Serrano put themselves in the shoes of several couples who have travelled to Mallorca (heavenly beach destination) in search of wellbeing and tranquillity, adventure, new experiences and the feeling of unreality the new destination promises them, characters who are balancing themselves on a tightrope. On one side lies the abyss of solitude, a world in which individuality confronts itself, unprotected. On the other side are the arms of the loved one, the construction of the meaning of live through love in couples. The name WUC comes from Wake Up Call, a summons to be alert, an invitation to wake up and confront the emotions one does not understand.
