As part of Bienal B and in collaboration with the Museu d’Història de Manacor and artist Vítor Mejuto, the educational project “Històries de vida” (Life Stories) is being presented around the exhibition “Vítor Mejuto. Breu història manual“. It will be on display at the Molí d’en Fraret. The Ethnographic Section of the Museu d’Història de Manacor and will be held from October 5, 2025, to March 2, 2026. Students from the IES Manacor (Secondary School) and the IES Mossèn Alcover (Secondary School) will participate.

The young participants will be able to learn firsthand about the artist’s creative process, as well as the life stories of the selected objects. They will also have the opportunity to develop their own creative process and engage in intergenerational work to complete their research on the uses and customs of the agricultural and everyday traditions of their surroundings. They will connect tradition and contemporaneity while reinterpreting and redefining the objects through contemporary artistic practices.

The activity will take place in various locations: Molí d’en Fraret, the Ethnographic Section of the Museu d’Història de Manacor, and participating educational centres. The artist will be present during the first session, as well as the heads of the education departments of the participating institutions throughout the entire process.

The project will be carried out between October 2025 and February 2026 and will conclude with an exhibition of the results at the Molí d’en Fraret between 21st February until 11th March 2026.

EXHIBITION

The exhibition will open on February 20th at 5:30 pm and will showcase the proposals resulting from the work process of each of the participating centres:

«La memòria dels objectes, una postal de record»
IES Mossèn Alcover. Artistic Projects. 1st Year of Baccalaureate

Witnesses to the past, to ways of life, to trades and traditions, which the students capture through a now-obsolete medium: the postal mail. The digital world has no place. Integrated into an exhibition that recreates the structure of a house, as a metaphor for community, folk wisdom, and our origins.

«Un punt de partida»
IES Manacor. Artistic Drawing II and Cultural and Artistic Movements. 2nd Year Baccalaureate

We have explored the objects from the Molí d’en Fraret from different perspectives, even though the starting point has been the objects themselves. We will find pieces from subjective reinterpretations with universal messages to the exploration of the different levels of iconicity of the pieces. We present the best we can offer, our artistic experiences, taking our past as our “starting point.”
