LECTURE BY EDWARD SHANKEN

Conference by Edward Shanken on the history of art and electronic media among the activities of the ArtFutura festival and coinciding the publication of the book Art and Electronic Media (Phaidon).
Digital Art, Electronic Art, Media Art… All these terms refer to the intersection of art, science, technology and society that has occurred with increasing intensity in recent years. But this art is not born in the 90s but has a long rooted in art history, taking us to the early 20th century to the early experiments of kinetic art, through various artistic currents of the avant-garde to the present .
Shanken is one of the first historians who has done extensive research on the history and evolution of media art, and his research is an essential contribution to the study of this aspect of contemporary art and its implications in the history of art.
Presentation and panel discussion coordinated by Pau Waelder.
