Created in 1979 on the initiative of the great clarinettist Jean-Louis Sajot, the objective of Octuor de France since its beginnings has been to disseminate the musical literature from the 18th century to our time. Classical, romantic and contemporary music are all sources of inspiration for this ensemble. Their spirit leads them to research unknown and forgotten scores, as well as posing themselves such subtle challenges as accompanying the great classics of the silent cinema.

Gabriel Thibaudeau (Quebec, 1959), composer and pianist, is one of the great specialists in the musical accompaniment of silent films. As a pianist and conductor he has been invited to perform with the most prestigious orchestras in Europe, the United States, Japan and Canada.
