OLIVA TRENCADA

The band Oliva trencada has been active for 4 years now. In their first record, La música de la calma (Fona, 2007), they surprised audiences with their sound, rescued from the '90s "Lo-Fi". It mixed Mallorcan music with folk music of the School of Jim o’Rourke, Jon Fahey or Nick Drake. Oliva trencada came back with Fona to present Lluneta del pagès (Fona, 2008), a book-disc homage to the writer Maria Antònia Salvà, with a CD featuring 12 music poems, a DVD with the show with the writer Maria Antònia Oliver at the Teatre de Lloseta and a book of poems, all this with a luxurious design and prologue by Lluïsa Julià. It was created in 2010 the parallel project, Saltamartí. It is a music and poethic project in which Pep Toni Ferrer introduced music into Joan Brossa poems. There is a lot of people that not know Oliva trencada introducing music into poems since they've tuned into a pop sound, even 90s indie rock.

THE EN ES BALUARD SHOW: They'll be introducing their new album, Perleta negra (Black Pearl). An 11 songs album, 11 black pearls rescued from the seabed. The lyrics talk on universes where everything is possible, comic, real, poetic, simple and reflexive lyrics. The Perleta negra sound is delicious, having been recorded in the Favela studios, one of the most productive in Palma.
