PALMA: UNOFFICIAL TOURISM

Es Baluard Museu d’Art Modern i Contemporari de Palma will host from December 7, 2011 to January 8, 2012 “Palma: Unofficial Tourism”, a project by artist Iñaki Larrimbe connected to “1812_2012. Una mirada contemporánea” organized by Acción Cultural Española (AC/E). “1812_2012. Una mirada contemporánea” is aimed to commemorate the Bicentennial of the Constitución de Cádiz 'La Pepa' from a current point of view and through art, graphic design, music, audiovisual and Internet projects. It’s not just a commemorative or historic exercise connected to the 200 years of ‘La Pepa’ through art and culture but a space for reflection from different artistic forms.
The project’s curator, Jorge Díez, has ordered 17 artists to develop a work which will be exhibited in the different Spanish autonomic communities taking one of the articles of the Constitución de Cádiz and from this and through concepts as rights, freedom, citizenship and participation in the context of the Muslim revolutions and the 15-M.
