Es Baluard hosts Mecal Baleares for the second consecutive year on November 28, 29 and 30. Three days of free activities aimed at professionals and students in the audiovisual sector, as well as the general public.

Thursday 28th November

4pm Pitching Documentary Masterclass | Auditori
Pitching Documentary Masterclass led by Stephanie von Lukowicz from Lukimedia, collaborator in Malaga, San Sebsatián and FIPA festivals, running pitching workshops.

5:15pm Round table about co-production | Auditori
Round table focussed on co-production with a female touch by women producers: Victoria Morell, Sara Bamba, Gema R. Niera, Sara Gonzalo and Stephanie von Lukowicz.

Friday 29th of november

10am Children’s animation short films screening | Auditory & Aljub
Children’s animation shorts screening for schools, where children will discover a new format with appealing visual arts images and stories that promote values while learning in a more fun and engaging way.

11:15am Teen short films screening | Auditori
Teen shorts screening about issues that concern high school students from Palma’s high schools.

12pm One-To-One meetings | Intermedi
One-To-One meetings. The participants will be able to attend direct meetings with buyers, distributors and festivals. Confirmed Key-players:

Animation Masterclass for Stop Motion, by Sergio Lara, international animator from Stop-Motion; animator in projects such as Wes Anderson´s “Isla de Perros”, Charlie Kaufman “Anomalisa” and Claykids, amongst others.

6:30pm Producing for Netflix | Auditori
Producing for Netflix: Talk led by Sara Gonzalo and Gema R. Neira from Bambu Productions about their experience as producers in shows like “Las Chicas del Cable”, “Altamar” and “Farinha”.

Saturday 30th of november

6:15pm Balearic Islands short films screening | Auditori
Balearic Islands short film screenings with introductions by their respective directors.
