GROUP EXHIBITION
Curatorship:
Dolores Durán Úcar

The exhibition “Conceiving shapes", comprised of 56 works from private and institutional collections of Mallorca, proposes a journey along the different paths that have characterised the 20th century, with sculpture as the vehicle.

Conceived as a constructive reading, open to the spectator, where we find the keys to contemporary sculpture through the interrelation of different languages and eras, the exhibition includes – amongst others – the work of vocational sculptors like Eduardo Chillida, Henry Moore, Julio González, O. Zadkine and Anthony Caro; painters who developed their creative capacity through sculpture as is the case of Antoni Clavé, Jean Fautrier, André Derain, Max Ernst, Joan Miró and Wifredo Lam; and finally, artists who worked several disciplines at the same time, such as Ben Jakober, Yannick Vu, Markus Lüpertz and Wolf Vostell.

Completing the selection, the display includes a set of works by outstanding Mallorcan artists from the last quarter of the 20th century, such as Ferran Aguiló, Amador, Joan Costa, Rafa Forteza, Susy Gómez, Francesca Martí, Glòria Mas, Antoni Socías, among others.
