The videographic work proposed by Joan Bennassar Cerdà (Palma, 1991), thanks to the Third DKV/Es Baluard Production Scholarship for Videographic Creation, examines the relationship between nature and culture, researching on the ecological, economic and political implications of our commitment with the material world in order to provide a new understanding of the structures and systems ruling our environment.

The scenarios of The sun is gone but we still have the view are the following: a dome in Germany; a zeppelin old factory in the USSR, where a tropical island in the Pacific has been entirely recreated; a group of caves in Mallorca, with neon lights and where classical music concerts are performed every day in the middle of an underground lake; and a large ski resort in the desert of Dubai. Thus, this artwork is representative of Joan Bennassar Cerdà, one of Spain’s emerging artists. From the conceptual, he integrates different discourses where ways of living and understanding space are fundamental.
