Majorcan designer Clara Garau shows her creations at ‘Desing and Innovation in the Balearic Islands’
Clara Garau is the new designer to exhibit at “Design and Innovation in the Balearic Islands”, A stable platform developed by the museum which, taking as a starting point its shop, discloses gradually to those creators who regularly develop products related to experimental design and innovative craftsmanship. Clara Garau’s creations will be exhibited at the museum shop until October 19, and there may also be purchased.
After years of training in Barcelona, where she began studying fashion design, a short stay in London where she absorbs all the possibilities of the environment that the city offers, and many years with one foot in Berlin and another in the Balearics, Clara Garau (Palma de Mallorca, 1985) joins Laura García Baena, Baena i Garau, to undertake this project together. The basis for this is: the three B, B of Barcelona, Berlin and Baleares, the three places that they have shared over the years.
The project presented in Es Baluard’s “Design and Innovation in the Balearic Islands” is entitled edition entitled >>edition 365 photo: brunodaureo by baena·garau<<. This proposal features a collaboration with Mallorcan photographer Bruno Daureo -who has been capturing and closing the breadth of our coast in a square, perfect, in recent years with a Hasselblad camera. The project consists of a limited edition of 365 scarves with four different elements, puting color to the seasons: SPRING, SUMMER, AUTUMN, WINTER.
