Publication edited on the occasion of the exhibition “Cardinal Directions”, the first exhibition of the artist Jessica Stockholder in the Balearic Islands and her first museum project in Spain since 2012. The artistic practices of Stockholder (Seattle, United States, 1959, and raised in Vancouver, B.C. Canada), redefines the limits of the work of art in the pictorial medium, expanding it towards sculpture and architecture. The intersection or convergence of various artistic media, and the activation of spatial perception on the part of the viewer are all constant factors in her work. This is made patent in the selection of works created between 2006 and 2025. The book includes a text by the curator David Barro, and a conversation between Soad Houman -curator- and Ana Laura Aláez, as well as reproductions of the exhibited works and installation views.
