A workshop and collective action in which, inspired by the ruderal plants growing in the cracks of the walls of Es Baluard Museu, we will imagine plant beings through experimentation with various palm weaving techniques. The resulting pieces will form part of a collaborative installation that will remain open to the public in the museum’s outdoor spaces.
Lucía Loren. Visual artist, researcher and teacher; her line of research links collaborative artistic practices and projects inspired by critical pedagogies, integrating a socio-environmental reflection from an ecofeminist perspective.
Magdalena Vidal. A Mallorcan artisan who, in collaboration with Pep Toni, has created a project that combines traditional palm weaving, innovation and experimentation, sometimes collaborating with contemporary art projects.
The workshop is part of the project Un jardín de oficios [A garden of trades] (2026), carried out by Lucía Loren with the collaboration of Pep Toni Ferrer, Jerònia Gelabert Palmer, Aina Pistola, Magdalena Vidal and the scientific advice of the Jardí Botànic de Sóller – MUCBO, for the exhibition «A media lumbre» within the framework of the Biennal B program.
