Co-Creating through Connection

When:
University, art and education: educational innovation project

The project Cocrear per connectar [Co-create to Connect], led by the Primary Education and Social Education degrees at the Universitat de les Illes Balears (UIB), aims to foster collaboration between students from both programs. This is achieved through the joint creation of artistic mediation proposals linked to museums, libraries, and other heritage settings, while also bringing students closer to the reality of the island’s cultural institutions.

Es Baluard Museu participates in the project through meetings and training sessions led by the museum’s education team. During these sessions, students are introduced to the different mediation proposals offered to schools and social organizations across the Balearic Islands. After this initial phase, students develop an original mediation proposal designed for a specific group, which will be implemented at the museum in May 2026. The museum also facilitates connections between students and diverse groups, enabling them to carry out their projects.

Developed in mixed groups, these proposals follow an interdisciplinary and inclusive approach aligned with the 2030 Agenda. This initiative is part of the following second-year degree courses: Art Education: Visual Arts (Primary Education) and Social Education and Socio-educational Facilitation in Museums and Libraries (Social Education).
