Cos Clar (Clear Body)

Es Baluard Museu presents a movement workshop led by Maya Triay, as part of the program of activities accompanying the exhibition “Olimpia Velasco. Claros del bosque (Bell-ver).” The exhibition will be on view at the Museum until February 7, 2027.

The movement workshop will take place in Bellver Forest in Palma, in dialogue with the work of Olimpia Velasco.

Maya Triay invites us to connect with the concepts present in the exhibition and channel them through the body: “We take light and darkness, circularity, light itself, and beauty as engines for bodily exploration. Driven by curiosity and the body’s permeability, we will investigate how the landscape can move through us—causing us to move, shake, and transform.
We will explore the body as a space of inquiry: its layers of light and darkness, its curves, lines, and folds. Circles will emerge, growing ever wider. We will work with the physical center that sustains us and allows us to expand outward from within.
Physical spaces that seem to open up the very moment we arrive. There, the void is not an absence but a response: a space waiting for us to inhabit it. A workshop on deep listening to the forest—this time, through the matter of the body itself.”

Participation is limited. It is recommended to wear comfortable clothing and bring water.

Maya Triay is a dancer and creator. She completed her professional training in contemporary dance at the Iwanson International School for Contemporary Dance (Munich). She spent a year with the Swiss company Cinevox Junior, where she won the Jury Prize at the Young Choreographers competition in July 2018. That same year, she joined BialyTeatrTanz in Warsaw under the artistic direction of Izadora Weiss, also working with the Opera Narodowa, Opera Kameralna, and Opera Bialystok.
Upon returning to Mallorca, she has developed her work both as a performer—with Cia Baal in MiraMiró (2020–2023)—and as a creator of the solos Ella, regadera (2022) and MAREA (2023), the latter of which received a creation grant from the Institut d’Estudis Baleàrics.
Together with Mariona Jaume, she co-directs and performs in S’ALBUFERA and NUS, two works that have toured extensively both nationally and internationally.
Maya serves on the Board of Directors of the Professional Dance Association of the Balearic Islands.
