The Cultural and Creative Sector in the 21st Century: Impact and Purpose. Measuring impact is a fundamental process for valuing the transformative capacity a sector can have within its environment. To date, culture and its constituent sectors have faced significant challenges in conducting comprehensive and aggregated measurements of their impact, which may have led to a lack of recognition of their relevance to our economy and society. This course will allow students to specialize in establishing verified and agreed-upon parameters that enable us to accurately measure the social impact of culture.
Design and Management of Cultural Projects. This course offers theoretical and practical training in designing, managing, and communicating cultural projects, covering everything from strategic planning and entrepreneurship to the management of institutions, events, and cultural programming.
Narrative Design and Digital Culture. Digital design is the present and future of design because it is heard, it moves, and it manifests itself in diverse ways. Understanding its possibilities, its usability principles, its history and references, and above all its communication and narrative potential is key to operating in the 21st century. It develops formulas for digital culture from a humanistic and multidisciplinary perspective, to delve deeper into concepts and discourses beyond the tools themselves.
Art and Design for Transformation. This course addresses art and design as strategic tools for understanding the present and building responsible futures, applying rigorous and creative thinking to develop innovative solutions in institutions, organizations, and social contexts.
Expanded Art and Creative Research. This course addresses contemporary art as a field of knowledge and research, integrating creative methodologies, critical thinking, and cultural engagement. Tools such as cultural mapping and autoethnography are explored, along with their ethical implications, to develop artistic projects with a research focus and impact on the current cultural context.
External academic internships. With the subject of external academic internships, students will have a direct experience in the professional environment of the cultural and creative sector, through their temporary incorporation in museums, art centers, foundations, festivals and other cultural institutions of the Balearic Islands.
